Orange, Calif. - Senior Allie Tao (pictured) had all three goals to lead the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team to a 3-1 win over Chapman in a SCIAC match on Wednesday afternoon.

The win helps the Sagehens match their school record with 11 wins in a season (11-2-1), tying the standard set by the 2005 team. Pomona-Pitzer also clinches a SCIAC Tournament berth for the third year in a row, and keeps within one game of league-leading Cal Lutheran (which the Sagehens play in the regular season finale). Chapman, which is in third place in the league, falls to 9-8-1 overall and 6-5 in SCIAC play.

Tao scored on all three of her shots in recording her second career hat trick (the first came at Occidental as a sophomore in 2011). Her first goal came at the 12:17 mark of the first half off a pass from sophomore midfielder Julia Dohner, and she added an unassisted goal just over 10 minutes later to make the score 2-0.

Chapman siezed some of the momentum with a late first-half goal as Olivia Do scored with 3:19 left in the opening stanza to cut the Sagehen lead to 2-1 at the break. However, Tao finished off her hat trick just 2:37 into the second half to push the lead back to 3-1 and the Sagehens sat back from there to protect the lead.

Freshman goalie Corey Goelz had five saves to get the win in goal for Pomona-Pitzer. Chapman's two goalies combined for two saves.

The Sagehens return to action on Saturday when they host Whittier on Senior Day to try to become the first team in school history to reach 12 wins. Tao will be among the four seniors in the Class of 2014 honored pregame, along with defender Ari Sanchez, and midfielders Sara Ach and Charlotte Fisken.
