Claremont, Calif. - Erin Edmonds (Salem, Ore. - pictured) scored in the 75th minute to give the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team a 1-0 win over Hope International on Wednesday.
With the win, the Sagehens level their record at 1-1 on the young season, after falling 1-0 to Vanguard on Saturday on the road in their first game.
Edmonds scored her goal off a pass from Samantha Thompson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) at the 74:13 mark of the second half to break a scoreless deadlock.
Emma Wolfarth (Arlington, Va.) made four saves to pick up her first shutout of the season, including one save in the 80th minute off a shot from Hope International's Jordan Escoto to preserve the 1-0 lead.
The Sagehens finished with a 13-6 edge in shots in the game, as Allie Tao (Alamo, Calif.) and Traci Lopez (Santa Fe, N.M.) took four shots apiece. Savannah Wood had three saves for Hope International in the loss.
Pomona-Pitzer will next be in action on Saturday when it returns home for a 4 p.m. game against Biola.
