Sagehen Effort Not Enough Against Redlands

Two weeks into Winter Training, the Sagehens took on the Bulldogs from Redlands. Despite their best efforts, the team came up short as they fell to the Bulldogs 157-83.

Junior Joe LaBriola, Freshman Ryan Higgins and Junior Tom Cleveland went 2-3-4 in the 200 freestyle.  Junior All-American Max Scholten won the two individual events he contested as he took first in the 50 free and 200 backstroke with times of 22.13 and 1:58.08.  Junior Chris Wright went head-to-head with two-time SCIAC male athlete of the year Tyler Harp in the 200 fly but came up just short, swimming a season-best 2:03.52.  Senior Erik Peterson and Sophomore Tommy DePaoli finished 3-4 in the event as well.

J.P. Cumming came back after competing in the mile and 400 IM earlier in the day to take second in the 500 free with a season-best 5:03.04 while Joe LaBriola dropped almost 9 seconds from his previous season-best time to finish 3rd with a 5:03.69.  Freshman diver Tyler Oe also chipped in with 18 points toward the score after winning both boards.
