On Saturday, the Pomona-Pitzer swimmers traveled to the
University of Redlands to open their season at the Bulldog Swim
Invitational. With several SCIAC schools in attendance, the meet
served as a good opportunity to see how Pomona-Pitzer matched up
within the conference. Four weeks into the 2010-2011 season,
the Sagehens showed they are ready to build on the success last
year and are primed for a great season.
The swim of the day came from senior Dannielle Shiomoto in the
100-yard backstroke as she set a lifetime best with a 1:02.91, good
for 4th place overall. Returning
All-American Max Scholten (Jr.) and newcomer Alexandra Lincoln
(Fr.) had the best overall finishes for the Sagehens as both
finished 3rd in the 100-yard backstroke (54.93) and 100
freestyle (55.70), respectively.
The Sagehens will return to Redlands in a couple weeks for the
Bulldog Pentathlon on Nov. 13th.
