Sylvia Queener

Queener rejoined the Sagehens' coaching staff in 2022 after spending three years as the Head Coach for Whittier College Women's Lacrosse.

Since taking over the program in September, 2016, Coach Queener and the Poets have placed six players on All SCIAC, had an IWLCA All-West Region player and defeated Chapman University for the first time in program history.

Prior to Whittier College, Queener coached three seasons at Pomona-Pitzer as an assistant coach. In her three years with the Sagehens, the teams were 3x regular season SCIAC champions, 2x SCIAC tournament champions, and made three NCAA appearances, making it to the sweet sixteen twice (2015, 2016).

Queener graduated magna cum laude from Limestone College, with a BA in theatre, and ended her lacrosse career as the Conference Carolinas Co-Player of the year, received All-American honors, and competed for a national championship. She also received the Conference Carolinas Spring Scholar Athlete Award for Women's Lacrosse. Queener also played at Monroe Community College and received All-American honors, and still holds the school record for most goals in a game (9). In high school, Queener was coached by both her mother and father, was a 2x All-American, and won a New York State Class B Championship.
