Marissa Markey begins her first year on the Pomona-Pitzer Tennis coaching staff in 2025-2026.

Markey was a student-athlete at Pitzer College, where she graduated in 2025 with honors in Psychology and a minor in Data Science. During her collegiate career, Markey earned two-time ITA Doubles All-American honors (2022, 2025), reached the NCAA Doubles Semifinals (2025), helped lead the team to the NCAA Team Final (2025), and reached a team Semifinal (2024). She was also a three-time All-SCIAC selection, including First Team honors in 2025. Her academic efforts earned her recognition as a CSC Academic All-America First Team honoree (2025), four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, and four-time SCAIC All-Academic Team. 

Markey served as a team captain and was an active member of the ITA Student-Athlete Council, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and the broader student-athlete experience. Throughout her time playing for Pomona-Pitzer, Markey spent time coaching elite junior players, and she is excited to return to Claremont and contribute to the continued success of the Sagehen Tennis program. Her academic and research interests centered around sport psychology and the intersection of mental health and athletic performance. She has delivered sport psychology talks to elite junior players and has presented her work at national conferences.Â
