Kevin Cummings is entering his eighth season with the Pomona-Pitzer football coaching staff, coaching the running backs.

Cummings’ prior coaching experience includes stops at both Crespi and Santa Monica High Schools, where he worked as the Running Backs and Receivers Coach, respectively. He also served as the JV Head Coach with both programs.

Cummings has a storied playing career, having played collegiately at Central State University. As a running back, Cummings finished top-five in school history in both rushing yards and scoring. He was inducted into the Central State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

Following his collegiate career, Cummings spent three seasons playing in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Toronto Argonauts. He won recognition as player of the game for the Argonauts on five separate occasions.

Cummings’ son, Kevin Cummings Jr. was a wide receiver at Oregon State University, where he started three seasons. Like his father, he later signed a contract to play in the CFL with the Edmonton Eskimos. He is currently the wide receivers coach at the University of Washington.
