Pomona-Pitzer Athletics

Chris Johnson serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment and Facilities Operations at Pomona College. In his role, he oversees athletic equipment operations, facility management, student staff supervision, team travel logistics, fleet management, and external facility rentals. He also manages equipment and inventory needs for the department’s 21 varsity sports and supervises a large team of student employees.

Chris has been a member of the Pomona College Athletics staff since 2019 and has held several roles within the department, including Interim Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services and Athletic Administrative Assistant. His experience in collegiate athletics includes NCAA compliance, student-athlete services, event operations, equipment management, facility operations, and staff development.

Prior to Pomona, Chris worked extensively with youth and students in educational, behavioral, and community-based programs. He earned a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine and a Bachelor of Science in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Cal Poly Pomona.
