Women's XC: Sagehens Take 12th At NCAA National Championships

LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Cross Country team finished in 12th place overall at the NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday morning at Tom Sawyer State Park.

Pomona-Pitzer finished in 12th place, which is the highest finish for the Sagehens since 1982 where they also took 12th at the National Championships. The only better finish for the Sagehens came in 1981 where they took seventh out of eight total teams.

This meet also marks the first time the Sagehens finished with two All-Americans as Lila Cardillo led the way with a 12th place finish at 21:38.3 and Helen Guo took 14th at 21:41.0.

The next highest Sagehen came in 142nd as Rosie Linkus finished with a time of 23:08.6 and Abigail Loiselle crossed the line in 157th at 23:14.8.

Ela Nickels followed in 188th overall with a time of 23:26.7, Madeleine Mount-Cors took 214th at 23:44.0 and Lilly Bar ended the day for the Sagehens in 269th with a time of 24:46.1.

"Our team went out and accomplished all of our goals today," said Head Coach Kirk Reynolds. "We are so pleased with our results, and so pleased with each runner's efforts today. The team's success is a reflection of the entire season's worth of hard work."
