WHITTIER, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Water Polo team fell in both games of their double header in the Whittier Invitational 25-2 to No. 2 Southern California and 11-6 to No. 25 California Baptist on Saturday afternoon at the Slade Aquatics Center.

The Sagehens were led by sophomores Anna Yu and Natalie Hill who each tallied one goal each in the loss.

Pomona-Pitzer got on the board late in the second half as Yu and Hill each scored goals in the fourth quarter but the Trojans were too much for the Sagehens to handle in the loss.

The Sagehens took on their second-straight ranked opponent of the afternoon in the Cal Baptist.

The Sagehens had six different players score a goal as Yu, Hill, junior Jocelyn Castro, sophomore Samantha Martinez, senior Hope Grant and freshman Crystal Huang each found the back of the net.

The Lancers were led by Peret who notched a goal in each period of play and ended the match with four.

Cal Baptist got ahead early as they began the first period on a 3-0 run that was ended as Martinez scored a goal for the Sagehens but the Lancers led 4-1 after the first.

The Sagehens were outscored 3-2 in the second period as Huang and Castro scored their first goals of the game as Pomona-Pitzer trailed 7-3 at the half.

Pomona-Pitzer came out in the second half and scored the first goal of the third period off of the hand of Hill but the Lancers closed out the quarter with two-straight goals to take a 9-4 lead going into the fourth.

The Sagehens battled back with two-straight goals to open up the fourth from Grant and Yu but the Lancers were able to hold off the Pomona-Pitzer attack to seal the win.
