Pomona-Pitzer Women's Track & Field Take USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honored the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Track & Field Team with the All-Academic Team Award and listed five members on the team to the 2019 Division III All-Academic Awards list on Monday morning.

"We are so proud of these five individuals, and so proud of the whole team," said Head Coach Kirk Reynolds. "These students work so amazingly hard, and achieve at such a high level in the classroom and out on the track. They get it done in a very impressive way."  

In order to be in contention for Scholar Team of the Year, a program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.

The Sagehens had an outstanding year on the track and in the classroom, ending the year with a 3.65 cumulative team GPA. The five athletes who were awarded All-Academic Individual honors are Vicky-Marie Addo-Ashong, Lila Cardillo, Quin Fraley, Helen Guo, and Lauren Hamilton.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
