Women's Tennis: Sagehens Earn ITA All-Academic Team Honors

CLAREMONT, CA. - The Pomona-Pitzer women's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors for having a team GPA above a 3.2 for the 2018-19 season, as announced by the ITA.

The Sagehens ended the year with a 3.45 GPA as a team and had six Sagehens earn ITA Scholar-Athlete Award honors, which require at least a 3.5 grade point average during the 2018-19 academic year. Seniors Caroline Casper, Arianna Chen, Lucy Jiang and Rebecca Salaway all ended their careers with Scholar Athlete distinction as well as first-years Maria Lyven and Jacinta Chen.

The Sagehens fell in the NCAA Regional Final this season and ended the year with a 16-6 overall record and 6-1 in the SCIAC. Pomona-Pitzer finished the year ranked as the No. 5 team in the nation with Casper making a quarterfinal run in the individual NCAA Singles Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
