CLAREMONT, Ca. -- The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team will be a host for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Semifinals as they take on Redlands on Thursday, November 2nd at 2:30 p.m. at the Pomona-Pitzer Soccer Field.
The Sagehens ended the year with a 3-0 win over Occidental which clinched the No. 2 seed in the SCIAC Postseason. Pomona-Pitzer and Redlands met twice during the regular season with the Sagehens winning at Redlands 1-0 and a 1-1 draw at home.
Pomona-Pitzer is led by senior Abby Onderwyzer Gold who leads the team with 17 points with a team-high eight goals and one assist. Right behind her is sophomore Bria VarnBuhler with 16 points on six goals and four assists.
Leading the Sagehens in goal is sophomore Isa Berardo. Berardo tallied six wins this season to go along with 71 saves for a .789 save percentage.
Redlands is led by Emily Falla and Alexa Groesser who each have 12 points on the year. Groesser leads the team in goals with six while Fall has five goals and two assists to her name.
In goal for the Bulldogs is Hannah Menk who has five shutouts this season and 92 saves for an .868 save percentage.
The winner of the SCIAC Semifinals will advance to the SCIAC Finals that will take place on Saturday, November 4th at a time to be determined by the highest remaining seed.
