Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she majors in biology with a minor in Spanish...Has one sister...Came to Pomona after being accepted also at Amherst, Williams, Rice, Duke, Bowdoin, College of William and Mary, and Whitman...Would recommend Pomona because "I love the environment of the 5Cs - it's nice to attend a small college but have the resources and diversity of the other colleges. Also, Pomona students really do have the opportunity to get involved with such a great range of activities - athletics, science research, community service, camping trips, etc. There are so many opportunities here and so many people willing to help you along the way. In particular, there are some really great professors at Pomona. And, of course, for a Southern CA native, the year-round sunny weather is definitely a plus :)"...Originally chose Pomona "because I like the students I met on my visit (and a lot of them were xc girls). Pomona students were very friendly and welcoming and they seemed happier and more laid back than students I met at other schools."...Born May 26, 1991.

Likes running because: "the fact that running as a sport is so simple and pure - all you need is a pair of running shoes and somewhere to go. Running gives you a chance to reflect, relieve stress, or just forget about everything else and only focus on moving your legs and breathing. I also like how it is both an individual sport and a team sport. Each runner has their own individual goals and regardless of how the team as a whole performs, each team member can succeed in their own individual way. Yet, having a team to run with (or cross train with) makes running more enjoyable, makes challenges seem surmountable, and allows you to create team goals as well as individual goals."

Enjoys the women's cross country team because: "it is very friendly and inclusive and represents a group of girls with diverse running backgrounds and abilities as well as diverse interests outside running. The atmosphere of the team is not overly competitive, but rather fun and supportive. As a freshman, the team is great because it creates yet another support network to help navigate your first year of college."
