Greg Hook

Greg Hook enters his sixth season as the Head Athletic Performance Coach for all 21 varsity sports for Pomona-Pitzer Athletics. He previously spent three seasons as an assistant coach for Pomona-Pitzer Track and Field where he worked with the sprinters, hurdlers, and relay teams.  

In 2017, he spent four months working in UCLA's Athletic Performance department specializing in the Olympic Sports. He worked directly with the full-time athletic performance coaches for Track & Field, Cross Country, Beach Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, & Golf.

A native of Hillsborough, California outside of San Francisco, Hook is a graduate of Pitzer College (’14) with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Economics. As an undergraduate, he was a standout sprinter for the Sagehens earning All-SCIAC honors three times throughout his career. During his junior and senior years, he served as team captain and was named team MVP during his sophomore season. He is a member of the 2nd and 4th fastest 4x400m relay teams in school history as well as the 7th fastest relay team for the 4x100m.

He currently holds a USATF Level 2 Certification in the sprints/hurdles/relays, a USTFCCCA Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification, and is recognized by the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). In August of 2020, Hook completed his MS degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
