ATLANTA, GA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Golf team finished in second place at the Callaway Garden's Collegiate at Callaway Gardens on Saturday afternoon.
Pomona-Pitzer took second place out of 15 team with a final score of 315, which was seven strokes off of the first place finisher Methodist University who ended with 308. Behind the Sagehens was Christopher Newport in third with 323, Berry College in fourth with 325 and rounding out the top-five was Huntingdon College and Washignton and Lee who tied for fifth with a score of 327.
Leading the way for the Sagehens was Andi Chaloult who ended in a tie for fifth overall with a score of 77. A pair of Sagehens followed up with a tie for 12th as Gabrielle Herzig and Sophia Hui finished with a score of 79. Stephanie Yu ended her day in a tie for 20th overall with an 80 and ending the day for the Sagehens was Annabelle Huether who finished in a tie for 32nd with a score of 83.
"We played a good event against a strong field of teams," said Head Coach John Wurzer. "13 of the schools were ranked in the top 40 teams in the nation. The experience of traveling to an event our of our region and competing well is something we will use going forward this season."
