Season Impact: The Sagehens improve to a 16-5 record overall and 10-2 in the SCIAC, remaining in second in the SCIAC standings.
The Bulldogs established themselves early in the game, playing solid defense, while creating open looks to build a 7-2 lead. However, the Sagehens managed to close the gap towards the end of the first quarter while trailing 16-10 thanks to some brilliant play by Chidom. The first year center hit a jumper and proceeded to block a layup attempt by Jerrier in the next possession. Quan found Chidom open beneath the paint for another jumper to close the gap 16-14. After the Bulldogs took a basket back, Quan drove past her defender into the open paint for a layup. Quan later assisted Renae Tamura for a layup with 1:02 left in the period to tie the game 18-18, but the Bulldogs took back the lead thanks to a three-pointer by Alyssa Downs.
Chidom opened up the second quarter with a baseline jumper and Cameron Edward followed with a three-pointer to give the Sagehens their first lead of the night 23-21. Chidom continued the run with two straight baskets and Edward drove in for a layup to make it 29-21 with 6:48 left in the half, capping an 11-0 run. The Bulldogs rallied back with an 8-0 run, but in the dying seconds of the half, Kamil English extended the Sagehens' lead with a baseline layup to help the Sagehens lead 34-31 at halftime.
The two sides continued to battle closely in the third quarter, but with 5:23 left, the Sagehens managed to pull away. Leading 44-41, Leong was fouled on a layup attempt and made both free throws, and English followed with a three-pointer to extend the lead 49-41. However, an 8-0 run by the Bulldogs tied up the game with 1:19 left in the period. With the game tied at 50 apiece and the clock winding down, Tamura sank an elbow jumper to beat the buzzer, giving the Sagehens a 52-50 lead in the final period.
The Bulldogs opened the final quarter with a 14-4 run, creating open layups and playing tough defense on the Sagehens. With 4:59 left in the game and trailing 64-56, the Sagehens found new life thanks to the scoring clinic by Quan. After dribbling past her defender at ease for a layup, Quan hit a three from the left corner off a pass by Keilani Ikehara.
