Four Sagehens Named To All-American Team

BRIDGEPORT, PA. - The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced on Wednesday a total of 28 student-athletes from 13 institutions to receive 2017 ACWPC Men's Varsity Division III All-America honors. The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Water Polo Team led all Division III programs with three First Team All-American selections, seeing four total athletes earn ACWPC honors.

Senior Daniel Diemer was named ACWPC Player of the Year, becoming the third Sagehen after James Baker (2016) and Jason Cox (2012). He was also on the First Team All-America list after an incredible season in which he made 244 saves and posted a .524 save percentage.

Adam Ward earned a spot on the First Team All-America list after leading the Sagehens with 47 goals. Jacob Niskey was also on the list after scoring 36 goals, delivering 12 assists, and nabbing 35 steals.

Joseph Schafer was placed on the Second Team All-America list for his all-around contributions to the Hens, scoring 41 goals, dishing out 20 assists, and collecting 20 steals.
