PASADENA, Calif. – The No. 17 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Water Polo team came away with a 21-11 win on the road over Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) opponent Caltech on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Sagehens improve to 11-7 overall and the Beavers drop to 4-11 on the year.
Pomona-Pitzer jumped out to an early lead against the Beavers and held a 5-2 lead after the first period. The Sagehen began to pull away in the second as the defense only surrendered one goal to Caltech and extended their lead to 13-3 at the half.
The Beavers played a solid third quarter as they outscored the Sagehens 5-3 but Pomona-Pitzer still held a 16-8 advantage heading into the fourth period.
The Sagehens' offense came back in the fourth as they tacked on five goals to their total and came away with the ten-point victory.
