SAN DIEGO, CA. – The No. 25 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track and Field Team had a positive showing at the Point Loma Invitational, accomplishing their set goals for the meet. Competing against Division II, III, and NAIA programs, several Sagehen athletes stood out among the competition.
"Today was a break in the conference schedule, which allowed us to focus on setting some great individual marks. A number of men set personal bests on the track and in the field events. Hopefully, we can carry that momentum into the conference dual next week, where we are looking to improve to 5-0 on the season."
Carter Floyd took first place in the 800 meter run, clocking in at 1:55.42 while his teammate Kellen Browning followed in second at 1:55.58. Both times were their personal bests. Ian Emlet also competed in the 800 and took fifth at 1:57.30.
Andy Reischling was the second-fastest collegiate finisher in the 1500 meter, finishing fifth overall at 3:56.81.
Over in the throws, Theo Bazakas took third overall in the discus, throwing a personal best mark of 41.32 meters (135' 6").
Ethan Hardacre took second in the long jump at 6.64 m (21' 9.5") and fourth in the triple jump at 13.43 m (44' 0.75").
