NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the Preseason National Team Rankings on Wednesday morning, listing the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track and Field Team 25th overall. The ranking places them at the highest among SCIAC programs. The Sagehens have got off to a hot start this season, yielding noteworthy results in their last five events thanks to improved performances from their returnees. The team also boasts a 3-0 record in SCIAC Dual Meet competitions.
One of the key noteworthy performers is Andy Reischling who posted the second-fastest 5000 Meter time in the nation this season at 14:23.87. The team's distance runners have also been putting up strong results, with eight runners finishing below the 15:20.00 mark at the Occidental Distance Carnival. Ethan Hardacre has proven to be one of the top Division III jumpers while Cal Neikirk has out-performed the SCIAC in the hurdles.
The Sagehens will look to improve their ranking this upcoming Saturday at the Point Loma Invitational in San Diego, California on March 24 at 10 a.m.
