CLAREMONT, CA — The Sagehens had six top-three finishes and the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Track and Field team finished fourth overall Saturday afternoon at the Rossi Relays hosted at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Division II programs Fresno Pacific and Cal State L.A. took the top two spots. SCIAC rival La Verne finished third.
Christopher Neikirk tied for first in the high jump with defending SCIAC Champion Cam Van from CMS. The pair finished with a jump of 6-04.
Neikirk also took second overall and first among DIII competitors in the 110 hurdles, crossing the line at a time of 14.88. His time in the event is a personal record and seventh fastest in program history
The Sagehens won the 4x800 relay with the team of Nick Vucovich, Nicholas Borowsky, Gabe Elliott, and Paul Messana finishing with a time of 7:47.68, ahead of Division II Fresno Pacific and Cal State L.A.
Andy Reischling ran 8:32.51 in the 3000 meter, taking fifth overall and first among DIII competitors.
Reggie Reed finished with a throw of 45-07.00 in the shot put, taking home third place.
Ethan Hardacre had a successful outing in the long jump as the top DIII finisher with a distance of 22-09.00 and third overall. Alex Findlay finished the event in sixth place with a distance of 20-05.75.
Calvin Aylward took second in the javelin with a throw of 186-06, the best from NCAA Division III competition.
Next Meet: The Sagehens will host the first SCIAC meet of the year next Saturday at Strehle Track beginning at 10 a.m.
