CLAREMONT, CA. – The No. 14 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis Team came away with a dominating 8-1 victory over No. 19 Whitman College in the first day of spring break on Monday, sweeping the singles round for an impressive win.
Octave Bellet De Giacomoni and Joshua Gearou took a commanding 8-6 victory over Andreas Mueller-Immergluck and Alex Hwang in no. 1 doubles. Over in no. 3, Jed Kronenberg and Nils Skattum battled to a close 8-6 victory over Ben Kirsh and Jacob Strabo. However, Avery Bick and Charlie Stark dropped no. 2 doubles to Adam Rapaport and Rajul Chikkalingaiah 8-6.
Over in singles, Bellet cruised to a 6-0 and 6-2 win in no. 3 over Hwang while Joshua Gearou took no. 2 singles against Rapaport 6-4 and 6-1. Jansen Comadena clinched the match with a pair of 6-2 sets against Strabo in no. 6 singles. Sam Gearou battled to a three-set victory, dropping the first set 4-6, but coming back 6-1 and 6-4 in no. 4 singles against Mueller-Immergluck. Kronenberg also battled to three sets against Kirsh in no. 1 singles, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Jacob Schoenherr capped off the match with a win in no. 5 singles against Chikkalingaiah 7-6 (3) and 6-4.
