Men's Soccer: Pomona-Pitzer Drops Away Contest To Vanguard, 3-0

COSTA MESA, CA. -- The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to non-conference opponent Vanguard 3-0 on Wednesday night.

Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 0-3 to start the season.

The Lions outshot the Sagehens 17-8 on the night while Vanguard put six shots on goal with Pomona-Pitzer having two shots on frame. The Sagehens also put together six corners but could not score off of their set pieces as they still search for their first goal of the season.

Each team had five shots in the first half but it was the Lions who found the back of the net in the 21st minute from a long shot around the box to take a 1-0 lead.

Vanguard put two more shots past the Pomona-Pitzer keeper in the second half with a goal in the 56th minute off of a header from a Vanguard corner and another in the 82nd minute to take a 3-0 lead over the Sagehens late in the game.
