ATLANTA, GA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to non-conference opponent Oglethorpe 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Woodruff PE Center.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 0-2 to start the year.
The Sagehens started out the first half staying even with Oglethorpe but the goal scoring started for the Stormy Petrel around the 30-minute mark of the match where they netted three goals. Oglethorpe started out on top as a turnover led the attacker dribbling into the box and snuck one past the keeper to go on top 1-0.
Oglethorpe netted another goal after a deflection just over a minute later and then added a third a few minutes later after a loose ball was controlled by Oglethorpe and shot into the net as the Sagehens went into halftime down 3-0.
The Sagehens registered three shots in the first half with one on goal and could not come across any good scoring chances in the second half of play. The Stormy Petrel added one more goal in the second half at the 58th minute off of a free kick as the Sagehens fell 4-0 on the road.
