CLAREMONT, Ca. -- The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Golf Team travelled to Gearhart, OR to compete in the George Fox Invitational this past weekend at Gearhart Golf Links (the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River).
The Sagehens finished in 5th place overall, shooting a two day total of 614. The tournament was won by George Fox who fired a 591.
The Hens were led by Senior Owen Rosebeck who solidified yet another top-10 in his Senior campaign. Rosebeck was just one shot out of the lead after a first round 72 (E) and followed that with a 75 (+3) to finish in a tie for 6th place. Following Rosebeck was fellow Senior Jack Carrigan. Carrigan continues to impress. He began his tournament with an 80 (+8) but came back strong with a 72 (E) to secure a 14th place finish.
Behind Carrigan was David Song who fired two consecutive rounds of 79 (+7), landing him in solo 23rd. Rounding out the Sagehens were Senior Sam Sawyers and First-Year Seth Pope who each fired a two round total of 159 to finish in 24th place. Junior Alan Tom also saw his return to competitive golf this weekend firing an 80 (+8) in his one round of play.
Next Up: The Sagehens will be packing their bags again and competing in Walla Walla, WA at the Confluence Classic October 19th – October 20th
