CORONA, Calif. — The Pomona-Pitzer women's cross country team earned a third place finish to open the 2026 season at the Mark Covert Classic Saturday. 

Maggie Avey placed second individually to lead the Sagehens, clocking in at 20:52.8. Kendall Madine followed in 12th place, posting a time of 21:15.4. Megan Walter finished 14th after running a 21:16.7 and Anna Hirsch placed 16th with a 21:18.0. 

Lili Maycock turned in a 21:25.2 to earn a 21st individual placement. Eva Novy-Hildesley took 38th with a 21:53.3 while Magnolia Hougan rounded out the team's top seven finishers, clocking a time of 22:03.5.
