CORONA, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's cross country opened the 2026 season with a third place team finish Saturday at the Mark Covert Classic. 

Ian Sharp led the team with an eight place individual finish, racing a 25:26.9. Owen Irving followed with a 12th place finish after clocking in at 25:29.5. Ryan Fitzpatrick (15th, 25:31.4) and Tiernan Colby (17th, 25:33.1) also turned in top-20 individual finishes for Pomona-Pitzer. 

Cruz Espinoza and Nate Wehner finished one after another, with Espinoza clocking a 25:54.2 to take 26th and Wehner following in 27thn at 25:57.4. Alex Bur rounded out the team's top seven finishers, taking 47th with a time of 26:34.5.
