CLAREMONT, Calif. – After 18 years of service to Pomona-Pitzer Athletics, Becky Roark has accepted a position as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at fellow SCIAC institution Occidental College.

Over nearly two decades, she played an integral role in the health, safety and success of thousands of Pomona-Pitzer student-athletes while helping shape one of the premier sports medicine programs in NCAA Division III. She most recently served as Co-Head Athletic Trainer for the Sagehens, a role she held for the past seven years.

Throughout her career at Pomona-Pitzer, Roark provided athletic training care for numerous varsity programs while mentoring athletic training students, supporting department initiatives and serving as a resource for coaches, staff and student-athletes. As Co-Head Athletic Trainer, she helped oversee the department's sports medicine operations, scheduled athletic training needs for the department, and assisted in the planning of the new Pomona-Pitzer Athletic Training Room inside the newly renovated Center for Athletics, Recreation, and Wellness (CARW).

During Roark's tenure, Pomona-Pitzer student-athletes and teams achieved remarkable success, capturing numerous NCAA and SCIAC championships, making multiple NCAA Tournament runs and earning national recognition across a wide variety of sports.

"I'm incredibly excited for this new adventure and all that lies ahead," said Roark. "But I'd be remiss if I didn't say that today is also a sad one. After 18 unforgettable years, it's hard to put into words what this place has meant to me. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the challenges that made me better. I'll always be grateful for this chapter of my life."

Pomona-Pitzer Athletics thanks Becky for her exceptional service and dedication over the past 18 years and wishes her continued success in her new role at Occidental College.
