REDLANDS, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's track and field earned a fifth-place team finish at the SCIAC Championships.
Ella Bowers secured the Sagehens' lone individual event win this weekend, winning the triple jump with a mark of 37' 7 ¼". She also placed sixth in the long jump with a 17' 3 ½".
Felicia Akinde took fifth in the long jump with a 17' 4 ¼" and eighth in the triple jump with a 34' 7".
Eva Novy-Hildesley finished runner-up in the 1500m after clocking in at 4:37.23.
Kendall Madine took sixth (4:42.18),
Maggie Avey took ninth (4:45.41) and
Megan Walter took 11th (4:49.42).
Anna Marston finished seventh in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.01. In the 800m,
Rhiannon Root placed third with a 2:19.09 while
Elizabeth Newman took eighth with a 2:24.93.
Kendrick Dahlin earned a sixth-place finish in the 400H, posting a 1:10.04. Madine placed fourth in the 3000m steeplechase after racing a 11:18.26.
Ella Gary took sixth (11:44.42).
Kate Sherry finished fourth in the 10,000m run with a time of 38:16.32. Walter earned a podium spot with a third-place finish in the 5,000m with a time of 18:01.04. Gary followed in sixth (18:13.44) and
Lili Maycock in seventh (18:15.17).
Elsa Brandt took seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 4' 9 ¾".
Natalia Cossio tied for eighth with the same clearance on a later attempt.
As a team, the Sagehens earned 77 points to finish fifth. CMS finished first (262.5), followed by Chapman (179.5), Redlands (111) and Occidental (109).
