LA VERNE, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's track and field wrapped up competition at the La Verne Leopard Invitational Friday with a program record in the pole vault.
Siobhan Ong cleared a mark of 3.50m in the pole vault to set the new program record. She finished second in the event and passed former Sagehens' Micaela Fein and Erin Delaria's previous record marks of 3.35m.
Ella Gary took 14th in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:45.53, good for seventh all-time in program history.
Kendall Madine earned a ninth-place finish in the 1500m, clocking in with a PR 4:43.83.
Megan Walter finished ninth in the 5000m with a personal-best time of 17:48.40.
Anna Marston led the team in the 400m with a 14th place finish, racing a 1:01.75.
Kendrick Dahlin finished 17th in the race with a 1:05.60 while
Tenley Overdeck followed in 19th with a 1:09.12. Binstadt also placed 19th in the 200m at 26.96.
Rhiannon Root placed 19th in the 800m with a time of 2:18.69.
Pomona-Pitzer's 4x100m relay team, built of
Sol Gomez,
Kensi Binstadt,
Ellie Chi and
Felicia Akinde, finished third with a time of 49.69.
In the field events, Akinde won the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 11.10, good for fifth best in program history. Chi followed in third with a mark of 10.53m.
Harper Casey-Housand finished sixth in the javelin with a 22.37m while
Olivia Rosenthal followed in eighth at 17.46m.
Natalia Cossio earned a seventh-place finish in the high jump, clearing a mark of 1.50m and
Elsa Brandt took ninth after clearing the same height on a later attempt. Rosenthal secured an eighth-place finish in the shot put (7.82m) while Casey-Housand followed in ninth (6.77m).
Ella Grouws took 10th in the discus (21.83m) while Rosenthal took 17th in the hammer (30.50m).
