PACIFIC GROVE, CA — No. 4 Pomona-Pitzer women's golf took 6th place at the UC Santa Cruz Invite.
The Sagehens A and B squad finished 6th and 7th, respectively, at Pacific Grove GC. The Hens braved a windy day in Monterey Bay to play steadily. Though they end their home state win streak, they showcased their depth, with nine players finishing inside the top 50.
Junior
Eunice Yi led the starting team with a 6th place finish after a solid 75. Yi started off hot, firing back-to-back birdies. She played steady to the finish, racking up pars to finish at +3. Yi's key for the week was par 4 scoring, where she finished in the top 5.
Rachel LeMay was next, finishing just outside the top 10. She had a rougher start to her day, beginning the day 5-over through her first 5. LeMay closed her final thirteen at even par, firing two birdies on the way and showcasing her grittiness.
Senior
Ottavia Lombardo responded well to a difficult day one with a solid final round 77. She played steady, keeping the big numbers off the scorecard, and found a birdie on the 8th. Freshman
Riley Wang, despite starting with a quintuple bogey nine, righted the ship to count for her team with an 83.
Federica Domecq Lacroze also fired an 83, with a lone birdie on the 9th hole.
Freshman
Kashish Malik led the B team once again, with a second straight 77 and a third-best finish on the team. Malik found two birdies on the day, both on par 5s. Junior
Clara Chae responded well to a difficult day one, improving by 15 shots for a round two 77. She also started off hot, with a pair of birdies.

Malia Loo rounded out the B team with a 79, 81 and 83, respectively.
