CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to Tufts 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Stag-Hen Tournament.
The Jumbos started with the doubles point after taking two of the three matches against the Sagehens. The No. 1 doubles team of
Drew Goldman and
Jay Mallampati fell 6-3 as we as
Sam English and
Neil Chulani falling 6-4 at the No. 3 position. The Sagehens did manage to get a win at the No. 2 spot with
Leo Rocca and
Kiran Vairavanathan earning a 6-3 win but Tufts took a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
The Sagehens only managed one win during singles at the No. 1 spot as Goldman finished with a 6-4, 7-6 victory to claim the point for Pomona-Pitzer.
The Jumbos would go on to take the rest of the five matches with scores of:
