LOS ANGELES — Pomona-Pitzer's men's track and field competed at the Oxy Distance Carnival-Spring Break Classic Meet on Saturday.
With a superb 500m burst before the finish line,
Jefferson Wright took first in the 5000-meter with a time of 14:21.49.
William Marquart took first in the Shot Put with a mark of 55'9" and second in the Discus with 142'5". Marquart's Shot Put mark is #2 all-time in PP's program history and currently ranks #1 on the NCAA D3 National lists. In addition, Marquart's mark stands #5 in SCIAC D3 history since 1973.
Behind Wright in the 5k, junior
Peter Neid clocked 14:27:44 in fourth to record a 20-second personal best. Wright and Neid currently stand 1-2 on the NCAA D3 National lists in the early outdoor season. JT Bard finished 23rd overall in the 5000m in a strong personal best of 14:49.83.
