MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swim and dive secured its third straight SCIAC Championship Saturday and 26th conference title in program history.
The Sagehens posted two individual wins and a relay victory on day four to close out the conference championships.
Amaia Sherman claimed gold in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a 2:02.26.
Izzy Yoon followed in second with a 2:02.35 while
Charlotte Dixon took third with a 2:03.91 to solidify the Sagehen podium sweep.
Nina Aballea won the 100-yard free with a time of 50.13.
Ellie Burkhardt claimed third with a 50.68. The Sagehens' 400-yard free relay team closed the day with a victory, as
Francesca Coppo, Aballea,
Sabrina Wang and
Chesna Pelka clocked a 3:22.46.
As a team, Pomona-Pitzer finished with 1,050 points to claim its 26th SCIAC title in program history. CMS (966) took second while Chapman (409) placed third.
Head Coach JP Gowdy and staff were named SCIAC Women's Coaching Staff of the Year following the meet, while Aballea was tabbed as SCIAC Women's Swim & Dive Athlete of the Year.
