MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swim and dive secured three individual event wins and a team relay win Friday on day three of the SCIAC Championships.
Bennett Jones posted the team's first win of the day, swimming a 4:25.90 in the 400-yard IM.
Nina Aballea then tallied a SCIAC record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.59.
Chesna Pelka finished second with a 1:50.82 while
Ellie Burkhardt took third with a 1:51.01 to solidify the Sagehen podium sweep.
Pomona-Pitzer notched another podium sweep in the 100-yard backstroke, with
Amaia Sherman swimming a 55.93 to win.
Charlotte Dixon took second with a 56.30 while
Izzy Yoon finished third with a 56.45.
The Sagehens closed day three with a win in the 200-yard free relay, clocking a meet record time of 1:31.49. In the 1m dive,
Lilly Gillespie finished sixth with a score of 380.30.
As a team, Pomona-Pitzer moved into first place with 750 points, leading CMS (678) in second and Chapman (292) in third.
