MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swim and dive secured a relay win with a conference record time on day one of the SCIAC Championships.
The Sagehens' 800-yard free relay team posted a conference record to tally the team's first win of the SCIAC Championships.
Chesna Pelka,
Ellie Burkhardt,
Charlotte Dixon and
Nina Aballea swam a time of 7:21.56, winning by more than seven seconds and besting the previous SCIAC record time by more than two seconds.
Pomona-Pitzer's 200 medley relay team, made of
Amaia Sherman,
Francesca Coppo, Pelka and
Sabrina Wang, finished second with a 1:42.04.
Lilly Gillespie placed fifth in the 1m dive, scoring a 408.50.
Ardaea Forrestor followed in ninth while Yuxi Appl took 13th.
As a team, the Sagehens finished day one in second place with 129 points, trailing CMS (151) and leading Caltech (94) in third.
