MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swim and dive closed day one of the SCIAC Championships with a relay win and an individual dive win Wednesday at East LA College.
Tommy Matheis secured the team's first individual event win in the 3m dive, scoring a 535.15 and securing 20 points for the Sagehens' tally. Matheis finished over 26 points ahead of second place Reid Omilian of Chapman.
Liam Hochman finished 11th with a score of 373.05.
Pomona-Pitzer's 200-yard medley relay team then posted a win later in the day.

Casey Jacobs clocked a time of 1:30.29 to secure first place. The Sagehens closed the day with a second-place finish in the 800 free relay.

Kyle Huang,
Henry Cannon and Clement finished 0.05 seconds behind first place CMS with a time of 6:37.67.
The Sagehens finished day one in third place overall, with a total of 128 points. CMS leads with 141 while Chapman sits in second with 136.
