OXNARD, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's golf earned a runner-up team finish at the CA State Intercollegiate, its first competition of the fall season.
John Kim finished tied for second to lead the Sagehens.
The Sagehens shot a combined 22-under par to place second, finishing five strokes behind first place Whitman and 11 strokes ahead of third place and host Cal Lutheran. The team tallied a six-under par in round one before firing off back-to-back eight-under pars in rounds two and three.
Kim shot a total 10-under par throughout the two-day tournament, including a five-under round two that featured eight birdies. He followed that up with a 68 (-4) in round three with four birdies and no bogeys.
Andrew Lim tied for seventh with a six-under par, carding a five-under 67 in round three.
Aidan McGreen and
Ken Cremers both tied for 14th to round out the Sagehens' scoring golfers, coming in at three-under par. Competing as an individual,
William Zhuang fired a total four-under par including an eagle in a four-under round one.

Jay Chinchankar (+18, T56) wrapped up Pomona-Pitzer's showing at the tournament.
