AZUSA, Calif. — The Pomona-Pitzer's women's track and field team posted strong marks at the APU Franson Meet Friday and Saturday at Azusa Pacific.
Junior Ella Bowers improved her Triple Jump best to 39'7 3/4" to move to 11th on the NCAA Division III performance list – and a highly-likely national meet berth. Bowers' mark is #2 all-time in program history. First-year Elsa Van Dyke also recorded a personal best of 36'1 1/4" in the Triple Jump to equal the #7 mark in program history.
On the track, senior sprinter Olivia Richards clocked personal bests of 12.51 (100m) and 26.07 (200m) to jump to #6 and #9, respectively, all-time in program history. Kensi Binstadt sprinted 12.67 in the 100m to record the #9 mark in program history.
Senior Olivia Reichle had a busy two days, with three personal bests in three events. The SCIAC Champion ran 2:16.93 on Friday for the #8 mark in PP history and then returned Saturday to sprint 58.99 (400m) and 26.29 (200m). Sophomore Anna Marston clocked two PRs (26.39 in the 200m and 60.26 in the 400m). Sophomore Megan Walter dropped her 1500m personal best to 4:49.82.
A handful of Sagehens will compete Wednesday and Thursday at the Redlands Final Qualifier before National Championships selections are made next weekend.
