AZUSA, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's track and field sprinters and distance runners shined Friday and Saturday at the Franson Meet hosted by Azusa Pacific. Sophomore Gavin Doig ran a 100m personal best of 10.57 in the prelims and matched that time in the semifinals on Friday before returning Saturday to speed to a 21.41 in the 200m. The 100m time is #2 in program history while the 200m time is #4. Dash teammate Harrison Brown clocked 10.75 (#4 all-time PP) and 21.64 (#7 all-time) over a stellar weekend of sprinting. First-year teammate Will Bigler ran a strong PR 22.12 in the 200m.

In the multi-lap races, first-year Jeff Wright stormed to a 3:45.83 in the 1500 meters to knock four seconds off his best. Wright's mark moves him to #10 on the NCAA Division III performance list and a highly-likely national meet berth. Wright's mark is #5 in program history. First-year teammate Owen Irving dropped five seconds off his own 1500m best, finishing in 3:55.23. Peter Neid ran a personal best 1:55.46 in the 800m, while Nate Wehner ran a personal best 9:22.23 in the 3000 meter Steeplechase.

A handful of Sagehens will compete Wednesday and Thursday at the Redlands Final Qualifier before National Championships selections are made next weekend.
