Women’s Track and Field Opens Season with Dual Meet at Oxy

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's track and field opened the 2025 season with a series of strong performances at Occidental College Saturday afternoon. 
 
The Sagehens' "A" 4x100m relay squad earned the team's first win of the day, running a 51.93 in the event. Logan Spoonemore then won the javelin throw, tossing for a mark of 32.56m. Ella Bowers won the long jump with a 5.28m before winning the triple jump with a mark of 11.17m. Her long jump mark is the ninth best in program history.
 
Pomona-Pitzer's "A" 4x800m relay team posted a second-place finish in the event, running a 9:58.97. The team's "A" 4x1600m relay squad also finished second with a time of 21:55.92. Eliana Katz finished second in the hammer throw with a mark of 30.29m while Natalia Cossio took second in the high jump with a 1.45m clearance.
 
The Saghens also earned silver in the mixed 4x400m relay, with their "B" team running a 3:49.76. In total, Occidental earned 58 points while the Sagehens posted 41.
