CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swimming and diving closed out the regular season with a strong showing at the CMS Invite Saturday afternoon.
Though the meet was non-scoring, the Sagehens posted a series of event wins and strong performances.
Francesca Coppo posted the team's first individual event win in the 50-yard freestyle, racing a time of 23.45. Mary Louisa Leopold also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.33 before
Charlotte Dixon won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.23.
May Ling Roberts secured the win in the 100-yard breaststroke after swimming a 1:05.39.
Izzy Yoon won the 100-yard backstroke with a 56.21 then
Naomi Locala won the 1650-yard freestyle with a 18:06.92.
Mollie Appl earned gold in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:04.24 before
Chesna Pelka won the 100-yard freestyle with a 52.12.
Gabby Calvi won the 200-yard breaststroke after clocking a 2:19.45.
Roberts posted her second win of the day in the 100-yard IM, racing a 57.55. The Sagehens then won the mixed 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:28.02.
Up Next: Pomona-Pitzer gears up for the SCIAC Championships which will take place Feb. 19-22 on the campus of East Los Angeles College.
