SAN DIEGO, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to San Diego State 5-2 on Thursday afternoon.
The Sagehens started down a point after losing two of the three of the doubles matches.
Drew Goldman and
Leo Rocca fell in a close battle at No. 1 doubles 7-6 while
Ethan Lee and
Neil Chulani fell in their doubles match by the score of 6-1. The Sagehens did get a win at No. 3 as
Blake Bothmer and
Jay Mallampati won their doubles, 6-1.
The Sagehens managed to get two singles wins on the day as Goldman took a win at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-3 and
Luke Feng followed with a three-set win at No. 4, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.
Pomona-Pitzer went on to fall in the remaining singles matches as Lee fell at No. 2 7-5, 6-2, Andrew Adnea lost at No. 3 6-3, 6-3,
John Wehrle falling at No. 5 6-2, 6-2 and Rocca at No. 6, 6-3 1-6, 0-6.
