MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming and diving closed out the 2025 SCIAC Championships Saturday with a runner-up finish. The Sagehens finished with 751 points, behind CMS (979) and ahead of Chapman (497).
Tommy Matheis was named SCIAC Diver of the Year and Newcomer of the Year following the meet, while
Kyle Huang was named SCIAC Athlete of the Year.
Casey Jacobs posted the team's first event win of the night Saturday, winning the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.54 to complete the 50- and 100-yard freestyle double.
Adrian Clement took third with a time of 45.35. Huang won the 200-yard butterfly with a finals time of 1:48.57. The Sagehens completed a podium sweep in the event, with Hodge placing second (1:49.78) and
Gordon Kenny finishing third (1:49.82).
Pomona-Pitzer wrapped up the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, swimming to a time of 2:59.73. Clement, Hodge, Huang and Jacobs edged out second place CMS by 0.47 seconds to win the event.
Joe Dienstag started the meet with a third-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle, swimming to a time of 15:51.85. In the men's 200-yard backstroke,
Diego Hodge finished third with a time of 1:48.06 while Will Walz took fourth (1:52.90) and
Jack Christy fifth (1:52.99).
