Jacobs Day Two SCIAC Win 50 Free

Men’s Swim & Dive Holds Second Place Spot Through Day Two of SCIAC Championships

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming & diving maintained its second-place position Thursday after day two of the SCIAC Championships. The Sagehens currently have 264 points, behind CMS (417) and ahead of Chapman (211). 
 
In the first event of the day, the 500-yard freestyle, Joe Dienstag led Pomona-Pitzer with a second-place finish after clocking in at 4:32.08. Kyle Huang also placed second for the Sagehens in the 200-yard IM, racing a time of 1:49.57 and finishing just 0.43 seconds behind first place. Kenny Gordon took fifth in the race with a time of 1:52.04. 
 
Casey Jacobs secured the team's lone event win of the day, cruising to a victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a meet record time of 20.14. Adrian Clement finished fourth in the race with a 20.48. The Sagehens wrapped up day two with another second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Clement, Ian Conner, Huang and Jacobs posted a time of 1:21.20 and finished just 0.30 seconds behind first place. 
 
Pomona-Pitzer will resume competition tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 21, on day three of four at the SCIAC Championships.
