MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swimming and diving concluded day one of the 2025 SCIAC Championships in fourth place Wednesday at East Los Angeles College. The Sagehens currently stand in fourth with a total of 102 points, behind Chapman in third (103), Caltech in second (106) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in first (147).
Pomona-Pitzer earned an event win in the 800-yard freestyle relay, with
Charlotte Dixon,
Karolina Dzieciol,
Nina Aballea and
Valerie Mello cruising to a time of 7:25.55 and winning by nearly nine seconds. The Sagehens' 200-yard medley relay team raced to a narrow second place finish, clocking a 1:42.36, just 0.15 seconds behind event winner CMS.
The Sagehens resume action tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 20, on day two of the conference championships.
