Men's XC Wins Fifth Straight SCIAC Championship, Stein Secures Individual Title

CLAREMONT, CA — The Pomona-Pitzer men's cross country team won its fifth straight SCIAC Championship Saturday morning.

The Sagehens totaled 29 points with five runners in the top ten. CMS and La Verne finished in second and third place with 48 and 100 points, respectively.

Jack Stein led Pomona-Pitzer with first place individual finish, running a time of 24:33.5. Amir Barkan, Peter Neid, Jefferson Wright, and Ian Sharp followed and finished 5th, 6th, 7th, and 10th overall. Barkan finished with 25:17.5, Neid with 25:22.4, Wright with 25:25.2, and Sharp finished with a time of 25:40.9.

Tiernan Colby followed in 13th with a 25:43.80, John Bard took 17th with a 25:47.80, Connor Spellman earned a 21st place finish with a 26:12.90 and Evan Williams took 34th with a 26:54.90. Mason Hawkins took 43rd (27:08.50), Sebastian Groom took 51st (27:13.20), Alejandro Stefa Rojas Pratt finished 58th (27:31.80), Eddie Monson took 83rd (28:58.30) and Frederick Ambrose 84th (28:59.30).

Kye Toothaker finished 90th (29:14.40) and Alexander Doty placed 91st (29:23.50) to wrap up all Sagehen competitors.

Up Next: The Sagehens will compete in the NCAA Division III Cross Country West Region Championships at home in Claremont, California on Saturday, November 15 at 9:00 a.m. PT.
