CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swimming & diving defeated Chapman, 212-86, and Caltech, 219-79, Saturday afternoon at Haldeman Pool.
Season Impact: The win improves the Sagehens' head-to-head record to 8-0 versus SCIAC opponents this season.
Pomona-Pitzer's A 200-yard medley relay team posted the first win of the day, clocking a 1:43.96 to win the event.
Abby Raclaw then won the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:40.78.
Nina Aballea secured the win in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a 1:53.13, before
Charlotte Dixon won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.66.
Elise Jones won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.54.
Valerie Mello set a new school record in the 50-yard freestyle, racing a time of 23.26 to beat teammate
Francesca Coppo's mark of 23.34 set earlier this season.
Nina Aballea then won the 100-yard freestyle with a 51.16 while
Amaia Sherman won the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:06.64.
May Ling Roberts secured the win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.49.
Naomi Locala posted a win in the 500-yard freestyle after clocking a 5:13.33.
Bennett Jones then won the 400-yard IM with a 4:25.85. The Sagehens' A 400-yard freestyle relay team closed the day out with a win, racing a 3:27.50. Mello also tied the pool record in the 100-yard free to lead the relay.
Up Next: The Sagehens will compete in the CMS Invite on Saturday, Feb. 8, in their final meet of the regular season.
