CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming & diving defeated Chapman, 204-93, and Caltech, 207-81, Saturday afternoon at Haldeman Pool.
Season Impact: The win improves the Sagehens' head-to-head record to 8-0 versus SCIAC opponents this season.
Tommy Matheis started the double dual meet off with a win in the 1m diving, posting a final score of 355.75. Matheis also placed second in the 3m diving with a score of 376.00.
The Sagehens' A 200-yard medley relay squad won the first swimming event of the day, posting a time of 1:32.31.
Kyle Huang then won the 200-yard freestyle after clocking in at 1:42.55 before Ian Conner won the 100-yard backstroke with a 51.41.
Preston Kwon then won the 100-yard breaststroke, racing a 58.15.
Diego Hodge secured the win in the 200-yard butterfly after posting a 1:50.95.
Adrian Clement then won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.74. Clement posted another win in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 45.87.
William Walz won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.39.
Jonathan Cong secured the win in the 200-yard breaststroke, racing a 2:10.23.
Huang also won the 100-yard butterfly with a 49.88 before Walz won the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:07.24. Pomona-Pitzer closed the meet out with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the Sagehens' A squad racing a 3:03.45.
Up Next: The Sagehens will compete in the CMS Invite on Saturday, Feb. 8, in their final meet of the regular season.
